After a challenging couple of weeks, I woke to the morning sunshine beaming through the curtains, catching the hanging decorations at my window, and starting a chilly winter Sunday off with a spark of joy.
It is the tiny things, the things we sometimes take for granted or have forgotten to see, that give hope for a brighter day. A spell is spun that brings some magic into the ordinary and mundane, that conjures words from the experience of knowing it is always there in us and around us.
I opened my journal and wrote three haikus, simple little poems that captured the moment within a few syllables. Thankyou
for reawakening me to the magic of haiku.1.
Sunrays peeping through
Closed curtains against the chill
Warms a winter heart.
2.
Macrame moon hangs
Holding morning light beams bright
A joyous winter welcome.
3.
A purple glass heart
Reflects the morning sunshine
Through winter windows.

Thank you for sharing these Rhea. My love and deeper appreciation for haiku also been ignited by Beth's writing sanctuary. Such magic in them.
